And here is where we get into the athletes that are not the role model, stand up citizens that most of them are. In this post we'll go over The Bad, and the biggest cheater known to modern sports. Yes, you guessed it....Barry Bonds.
Barry Bonds started out his career with the Pittsburgh Pirates. As we can see in this photo, Barry had a lot of, uh, lets call it "growth" during his career.
Bond's currently holds the record as Home Run King, however many people argue that his record should be thrown out of Cooperstown since he has tested positive for steorids during his playing days. In 2007 Bonds was indicted on perjury and obstruction charges and the case is still not settled today. Bonds has often kept quiet about his alleged steroid use, but one thing is for sure: Bonds is not a normal player.
Heres another image to drive home my point- no one grows that much.
For all the players in the MLB that work hard and play hard and will never be in Cooperstown, Barry Bonds is am embarrassment, proof positive of the laxidasical rule of the MLB's commisioner, Bud Selig, and the league. For those of us who are fans of players that work hard, dont cheat and will never hold records, we need to speak out for them.
Now, granted, Bonds is not the worst athlete known to man. There are many more athletes who have done worse. But has this type of behavior, that is frowned upon but then brushed over, opened the flood gates for other athletes to run amok and piss all over their fans?
One may never know.
For those of you who want to make a change, I urge you to send a letter, email, or a post it note to Bud Selig,
